Ridge & River wants everyone to be able to shop for gear with us, online and in our stores. We are working to make ridgeandriver.com usable for people with disabilities, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, or voice control.

Our goal

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with a wide range of disabilities.

What we have done

  • Product options such as color and size are announced to screen readers by name, including when an option is sold out.
  • Product images, brand logos, and gallery thumbnails have text descriptions.
  • The site can be used with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline and a working "skip to content" link.
  • Pop-ups can be closed with the Escape key, and the cart drawer reports when it is open.
  • Text colors have been checked for contrast, and moving content can be paused.
  • Form fields are labeled and support browser autofill.

Ongoing work

Accessibility is ongoing work, not a one-time project. We review the site as we add products and features. Some content comes from outside partners, such as reviews, rewards, embedded videos, and checkout, and we work with those partners when we find a problem.
