Frequently asked questions
How should snowboard boots fit?
Snug everywhere. Standing straight, your toes should just brush the end of the boot, and when you bend your knees into riding stance they should pull back slightly. Your heel shouldn't lift when you lean forward. Liners pack out over the first several days, so a boot that feels roomy at first will be loose later.
BOA or traditional laces?
BOA dials tighten quickly and evenly and are easy to adjust with gloves on, which is why they've become the most popular system. Many boots use two dials, so you can set the forefoot and ankle separately. Traditional laces give the most fine-tuning but take longer.
Do Burton Step On boots work with any binding?
No. Step On boots clip into Burton Step On bindings, and you need both for the system to work. They can't be used in regular strap bindings.
What snowboard boot flex should I choose?
Softer boots are more forgiving and comfortable for beginners and park riding. Medium flex suits most all-mountain riders, and stiffer boots give more response at speed and in big terrain. Match your boot flex roughly to your binding and board.
