How Step On works
Boots and bindings work as a pair
A Step On binding only locks onto a boot with Step On cleats, so you need Step On boots to ride Step On bindings. If you already own Step On boots, any Step On binding here is an upgrade path.
Getting in and out
Line up your toe, then press your heel down until it clicks. To get out, lift the release lever on the side of the heelcup. There are no straps to buckle, so you can get in while standing at the top of the run or off the lift.
Choosing a binding
Burton's Step On Re:Flex is the all-mountain choice for most riders. The Genesis and Cartel X are Burton's step-up Step On bindings. Union and Nitro also make Step On bindings.
Choosing a boot
Step On boots come in different flexes, from softer, more forgiving boots to stiffer, more responsive ones. Try boots on with the socks you ride in and make sure your heel stays put when you flex forward.
