Frequently asked questions

How do I find my ski helmet size?
Measure around your head about an inch above your eyebrows with a soft tape, then match it to the brand's size chart on the product page. A good fit is snug with no gaps, sits level just above your eyebrows, and doesn't shift when you shake your head with the fit dial loose.
What is MIPS and do I need it?
MIPS is a low-friction layer inside the helmet that lets it move slightly on impact, designed to reduce rotational forces on the brain in angled falls. It's become standard on most mid-range and premium helmets, and nearly all the helmets we carry include it.
When should I replace my ski helmet?
Replace it after any significant impact, even if you can't see damage, because the foam is designed to absorb one hit. Many manufacturers also recommend replacing a helmet every few years of regular use as materials age. Check the guidance from your helmet's brand.
Will my goggles fit my helmet?
Most goggles fit most helmets, but the best fit has no gap between the goggle frame and the helmet brim and doesn't push the goggles down your nose. Pairing the same brand is the easiest way to get it right, and most helmets have a rear clip to hold the strap.
