Blizzard skis guide: Rustler, Black Pearl, Anomaly and Sheeva

Blizzard Rustler 9 and Rustler 10

Freeride-focused all-mountain skis that love soft snow but still rip on firm groomers, with Carbon Flipcore D2 for easy turn starts. The Rustler 9 has a 94mm waist (168–186cm) and the Rustler 10 has a 104mm waist (174–186cm).

Blizzard Black Pearl: women's all-mountain skis

The Black Pearl 84, 88 and 94 are Blizzard's women-specific all-mountain skis, with flex, layup and mount point tuned for women. The Black Pearl 88 is forgiving and intuitive for progressing-to-advanced skiers.

Blizzard Anomaly 88, 94 and 102

All-mountain skis that pair hard-snow precision with the versatility to handle chop, crud and soft snow, built with FluxForm titanal inserts and a TrueBlend woodcore. Pick the 88 for groomers, the 94 for a do-it-all ski, and the 102 for more float.

Blizzard Sheeva 9 and Sheeva 10

The women's version of the Rustler: the same playful freeride feel at 94mm and 104mm waists, tuned lighter for women.

Blizzard Phoenix 7.7: a beginner women's ski

A women's frontside ski built to make carving on groomers easy for beginner-to-intermediate skiers. It comes with the TPC 10 W binding factory-mounted.

Choosing width and length

Under 90mm is quickest edge to edge on groomers, 90–100mm is the all-mountain sweet spot, and over 100mm adds float for powder. Most skiers land between chin and the top of their head in length; stop by Levis Commons and we'll help you size it.

Frequently asked questions

Are Blizzard skis good for beginners?
Yes, if you pick the right model. The Phoenix 7.7 is built for beginner-to-intermediate women and comes with bindings already mounted, and the Black Pearl 88 is forgiving and intuitive for progressing skiers. The Rustler and Anomaly suit intermediate and stronger skiers.
Are Blizzard skis good?
Blizzard skis are built in Austria with FluxForm titanal inserts and TrueBlend woodcores for a stable, chatter-free ride, and the Rustler and Sheeva add Carbon Flipcore D2 for easy turning. They're a strong choice for intermediate to expert skiers.
What's the difference between the Blizzard Rustler and Anomaly?
The Rustler is the more playful, freeride-leaning ski that loves soft snow. The Anomaly is more precise on hard snow while still handling chop and crud. Groomer-focused skiers usually prefer the Anomaly; skiers who play all over the mountain prefer the Rustler.
Rustler 9 or Rustler 10: which should I get?
The Rustler 9 has a 94mm waist and is the better everyday ski, especially on firmer Midwest and East Coast snow. The Rustler 10 is 104mm underfoot for more float in powder and soft snow. Both are sold flat, so you'll add bindings.
What are the best Blizzard skis for women?
The Black Pearl 84, 88 and 94 are Blizzard's women's all-mountain skis, the Sheeva 9 and 10 are the women's freeride skis, and the Phoenix 7.7 is the easiest option for newer skiers.
Where are Blizzard skis made?
Blizzard skis are made in Austria.
