The Head Kore 87 ski is an all-mountain specialist with a focus on response and control. The bridge between the frontside and backside, the KORE 87 offers performance in a lightweight package. HEAD's weight-saving focus does not mean soft. HEAD fuses light Graphene into the KORE 87's tip and tail for even weight distribution. Light but stiff Karuba wood in the core is sandwiched by a triaxle weave carbon layer adding responsiveness. A sandwich sidewall construction, vibration absorption properties underfoot and a new top sheet shape round out the KORE 87's ability to charge or cruise.
- The Kore skis now come with a karuba / poplar wood core, whereas the previous skis were reportedly purely karuba.
- The skis get two layers of carbon fiber (reportedly one more layer than the previous skis).
- While they still feature a sidewall visible around the whole ski, the new Kore skis do feature a & chamfered top edge,& which basically just means that the top of the sidewall is angled / rounded, rather than being a 90 deg; angle (similar to many & semi-cap; or micro-cap & skis).
- This should help reduce top sheet chipping.
