A durable carbon black mixture, a well regarded puncture protection system, and DuraSkin anti-cut fabric turn the GatorSkin, formerly known as Ultra GatorSkin, into a real long distance runner. The DuraSkin offers unparalleled sidewall protection while Continental's Poly-X Breaker protects directly under the tread itself, where most flats occur. The polyester fibers overlap during manufacturing, yielding a very dense fabric and minimal space in-between threads, making the PolyX highly resistant to any foreign body without reducing the rolling resistance. Sidewall protection coming from the high quality polyamide fabric encasing the core casing of the tire from scuffs and cuts under the worst conditions.
